The Woodface Files |
|
June UpdateWoodface finally got out for a night on the town for Kokomo’s ALBUM RELEASE of IN THE WELL at the Orange Zephyr. I’ve put a selection of pics from that night in The Woodface Files in the Picture Gallery. These scenes are mainly of what was happening outside, people posing with Bob and musos mingling with happy fans clutching copies of In The Well. It was an awesome night and we’d like to thank again all who jammed or came along to support. I have just finished a large commissioned corrugated painting called Long Trip Home for a lovely couple that live not far from us in the foot-hills of the Kaimais. This is the most fun I’ve had with a tree-scape yet and there’s a photo of it in the Picture Gallery (in Grant’s Art Gallery). I have also added the picture that featured in the poster for my ’07 exhibition, Wrinkles & All, called Last K Home. For some reason I’ve never been able to take a decent photo of this piece (it’s a bit of a trick getting the light right on the corrugations) so when it recently came back to me, from being on display in Whangamata, I handed it over to Jan to photograph and she came up trumps! This piece is still for sale so if you’re bent enough to want to own one of my wrinkly bits do get in touch: CLICK HERE TO HECKLE GRANT. My eldest daughter Kelsi (17 now!) and her friend Bridget Martin have been in THE BOATSHED recording an album for their band THE TANGIBLE TITANS. This dynamic duo co-write their own songs which they both sing and play on (Bridget - guitar, Kelsi - ukulele). Bad footwear, bad manners, height-impaired canine, profligate use of speech and random wedgies all come under the firing-line of their cutting wit. They also write some sweet songs, one including vocals from Ella (our 4½ yr old) which sounds very cute! I may well be prejudiced in this but I reckon the THE TANGIBLE TITANS have the potential to become one of New Zealand’s Top 3 (or 4) Novelty Acts! We've finally updated Sony's band member page too, check it out if you want to hear her story of how she became a Kokomo-ite and her other musical adventures. Until next time |
