Blues.co.nzMike Garner has written a wonderful review for the NZ Blues website. You can find it here. The NZ Blues website is the best resource around for what's happening on the blues scene in New Zealand. Well worth bookmarking and checking regularly if you're a blues fan. |

Cdbaby.comCDBaby.com has a couple of really positive reviews and the CDs there are selling well. And (embarrassingly enough) it is probably cheaper to order Kokomo CDs there than from our website in New Zealand, even if you come from New Zealand. Of course that depends on the NZ$. But if you have friends anywhere else in the world who are after Kokomo albums then CDBaby is the place to send them. You can find In the Well here. |

Mp3sMp3s are a vaguely vexing question for most musicians we know, simply because - with the best will in the world - the sound quality simply is not as good as CD. And, after spending hours, days, weeks and possibly months labouring in the studio to bring the best possible sound to a recording, it's a little vexing to think that it's immediately going to be listened to in reduced sound quality.Having said that we clearly recognise the place of mp3s. Convenience is a wonderful thing, and when encoded at a higher rate (256kb for instance) they don't have a big drop-off in quality. So, of course, we're more than happy for anyone to download Kokomo mp3s - the true value of music is not in its sound quality, or we'd have stopped listening to those scratchy old Charlie Patton records years ago. The other question about mp3s is obviously what you pay (or don't pay) for them. There are possibly sites out there where you can download Kokomo mp3s illegally for free. So be it. We're not going to even try and find out. But there are also now a lot of sites where you can buy Kokomo mp3s, itunes and many others. We would, however, like to offer a recommendation - use CDBaby. Why? Because their mp3s are encoded at a higher bitrate (above 200kb) than most mp3 download sites, and because they are cheaper. We have set the prices there (please let us know if you think they are unreasonable) and still receive a higher amount from the sales than through other sites. That's the way it should be - everyone wins. Of course you need a credit card or PayPal account. The other thing about CDBaby is that you have to download the entire album (which works out at about NZ$1 per track). We rather like that too - the songs didn't just accidentally get into that order, and there are always ones which take a little longer to grow on you than others.
You can find our last three albums on CDBaby: |
