| he band had been together about 18 months when we recorded this album. We were hoping to capture some of the excitement and variety that we hear in the old blues we love. It sounds pretty rough to me now. Still, not bad for 6
hours in the studio. It sold pretty well, and some people (for reasons that escape us) still say it's their favourite.Love In Vain was made into a video, directed by Daniel Greenwood who was studying broadcasting at the Tauranga Poytechnic at the time and went on to
work for TVNZ as a cameraman. It actually got a fair amount of TV play. A few years later (1995 to be precise) it won the Music Video Award at the inaugural Bay Of Plenty Music Awards. The "girl in the video" was Annie Ashby, a great singer and songwriter who was then in The Bodysnatchers and now makes up one half of Two Empty Heads (based in Auckland). Hear them if you can - they're great.Derek Jacombs - Vocals, Guitar Grant Bullot - Harmonica Roger Bullot - BassRecorded live at Tandy's in Hamilton 8th September 1992 (except *) Produced by Zed Brooks & Derek Jacombs
Cover design & artwork - Grant Bullot & Roger Bullot *Recorded at the School Of Audio Engineering in Auckland (but it isn't listed on the album because we really weren't meant to be there. Thanks guys.)
